Synopsis: A recent UK ruling on the relevance of jurisdiction in back-to-back policies was good news for reinsurers. But questions remain unanswered as a consequence.

Thanks to the global credit crisis, the lack, with a few notable exceptions, of big-ticket reinsurance litigation made one of the final appeal decisions of the UK’s House of Lords (before the new Supreme Court opened on October 1, 2009) the most anticipated reinsurance court judgment for several years.
