Synopsis: Hedge funds have provided a very significant infusion of capital to the Bermuda insurance market follow in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma (“KRW”). This has happened at a time when insurance brokers, perhaps intuitively a more likely capital provider to the insurance industry, eschewed any involvement in the so-called “Class of 2005”.
