Matthew joined the firm in 2021. He is a Senior Counsel within insolvency and litigation. He qualified as a barrister in England in 2008, the British Virgin Islands in 2018 and Bermuda in 2020. Matthew is a trained and endorsed Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Matthew has over 12 years’ experience of insurance, insolvency and commercial litigation, including substantial interlocutory, trial and appellate advocacy, before both Courts and Tribunals.
Since arriving to Bermuda in 2019, Matthew has been involved with some of Bermuda’s most prominent matters, including the Robert Brockman litigation (the biggest US tax fraud in our history) and the liquidations/restructurings of PDV Insurance Company (Venezuela’s national oil and energy captive), Northstar Financial Services and VL Assurance (Bermuda).
Matthew authored the Bermuda chapter of the International Comparative Legal Guide (ICLG) for Litigation and Dispute Resolution in 2021.
